Google to open first AI campus in Seoul and eye $500B Ohio data center

1. First AI Campus in Seoul
Google will open its first DeepMind AI campus in its Seoul office by end-2026 under an MOU with South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT. The facility will host at least ten engineers from Google’s U.S. headquarters to work on collaborative research in life sciences, energy, weather and climate using tools such as AlphaFold and AlphaGenome.
2. Involvement in SoftBank’s Ohio Data Center
Google is among the leading tech firms evaluating capacity leases in SoftBank’s planned Ohio data center project, which could total 10 gigawatts and involve up to $500 billion in investment. The shared infrastructure model aims to spread build-out and power costs while securing critical AI compute capacity for tenants.
