GSI Technology has been awarded the initial phase of a Smart City project by the Hsinchu County government in Taiwan, marking its first commercial deployment of the Gemini-II Associative Processing Unit (APU) for edge AI compute-in-memory applications.

2. Pilot Deployment Details

Phase I covers an open-architecture software platform and integrates AI-based video analytics across 20 network-connected surveillance cameras, enabling real-time detection of safety events with low-latency, low-power edge inference.

3. Financial and Market Implications

The pilot serves as the first stage of a multi-phase program that could expand to 80 cameras, potentially generating multi-million dollar hardware sales and recurring software licensing revenue, with production-scale deployments expected in 2027.
