HII Partners with Halimar Shipyard to Boost ROMULUS 151 USV Production
HII•HII has partnered with Halimar Shipyard to support full-rate manufacturing of the ROMULUS 151 unmanned surface vessel using modern facilities and skilled labor at Morgan City, LA. Under the agreement, Halimar will build complete vessels alongside Breaux Brothers, accelerating production and expanding capacity to meet U.S. Navy and allied demand.

HII has added Halimar Shipyard of Morgan City, LA to its ROMULUS unmanned surface vessel production network. Halimar will construct complete ROMULUS 151 vessels in collaboration with Breaux Brothers Enterprises, leveraging its modern facilities and experienced workforce.
2. Production Capacity Expansion
Halimar’s facilities introduce scalable manufacturing capacity capable of full-rate ROMULUS 151 production. This partnership will accelerate delivery schedules beyond the five vessels already under construction at Breaux Brothers.
3. Distributed Shipbuilding Model
The collaboration strengthens HII’s distributed shipbuilding network across the Gulf Coast, improving supply chain resilience and surge capacity. Multiple yard locations now support fabrication, major assembly and final integration of autonomous vessels.
4. Driving Autonomous Maritime Demand
Expanded capacity addresses growing U.S. Navy and allied requirements for unmanned surface vessels. The scalable ROMULUS architecture aims to deliver mission-ready systems affordably and rapidly.
