Holland America Adds 14 Winter Voyages, 70+ Extra Port Days in Europe
CCL•Holland America Line will operate Nieuw Statendam in Europe year-round for winter 2027–28, deploying 12 voyages and adding two Zuiderdam sailings to deliver a total of 14 cruises. The expanded season provides over 70 additional port days, featuring Christmas market itineraries in Northern Europe and extended Mediterranean stays with overnight calls.
1. Year-Round Europe Deployment
Holland America is retaining Nieuw Statendam in Europe throughout winter 2027–28, expanding its off-season presence by offering 12 voyages across Northern Europe and the Mediterranean. This marks the first time the ship will operate year-round in the region, while Zuiderdam adds two additional winter sailings to broaden guest options.
2. Itinerary Highlights and Seasonal Experiences
The winter lineup spans Baltic and Scandinavian Christmas markets—featuring overnight stays in Helsinki and Stockholm and calls at Kiel, Tallinn, Copenhagen and Lapland access—and Mediterranean routes from November through February. Voyages range from seven to 24 days, with collectors’ journeys enabling back-to-back sailings and deeper exploration of ports like Valencia, Marseille, Mykonos and Rhodes.
3. Impact on Off-Season Capacity and Utilization
By adding more than 70 port days year-over-year, Holland America enhances guest immersion with extended stays and fewer crowds, aiming to improve yield in lower-demand months. The deployment supports higher ship utilization during traditionally slow quarters and could boost winter ticket revenue and onboard spending.
