ICEYE, Nokia partner on sovereign LEO satcom systems for governments, defense users
NOK•ICEYE and Nokia partnered to develop sovereign low-Earth-orbit satellite broadband systems for government and defense users. Initial communications satellites are targeted for launch in 2028.
1. Sovereign satellite systems
The partnership aims to give nations ownership of satellites, ground infrastructure and terminals, with the goal of providing secure, resilient connectivity under disruption. It extends ICEYE’s sovereign space model into satellite communications.
