Intel shifts confidential computing roadmap to TDX, plans to phase out SGX after Diamond Rapids Xeon
INTC•Intel plans to make Diamond Rapids its last Xeon platform with SGX, shifting its confidential-computing roadmap toward TDX. SGX support and security updates will continue into the early 2030s.
1. Shift to TDX
Intel is prioritizing broader deployment of protected virtual machines in cloud and enterprise environments through Intel TDX. Diamond Rapids will be the last Xeon platform to include SGX, while existing SGX platforms will receive support and security updates into the early 2030s. Planned TDX investments include trusted I/O via TDX Connect, post-quantum cryptography and expanded attestation for AI workloads using sensitive data.
