Japan top FX diplomat urges markets to heed 'very clear' warning on yen

Atsushi Mimura said markets should take at face value the “very clear” message Japan and the United States delivered last week on the yen, adding that he would watch whether markets continued to do so.
2. Officials flag yen weakness
U.S. President Donald Trump raised concerns about yen weakness at a summit with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama said Friday. Katayama and U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also reaffirmed in phone talks that the yen’s undervaluation was a concern.
