Joby Launches 2026 Electric Skies Tour and Secures 700,000 Sq-Ft Dayton Facility

It acquired a 700,000-square-foot Dayton facility to boost production to four aircraft monthly by 2027.

1. National Demonstration Flights

Joby completed a piloted electric air taxi flight across San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge, drawing on over 50,000 miles of prior test flights to launch its 2026 Electric Skies Tour. The demonstration showcased quiet, emissions-free flight and underscored readiness for urban aerial ridesharing.

2. Participation in eVTOL Pilot Program

Joby was selected for the White House–backed eVTOL Integration Pilot Program, securing early operational approval in Arizona, Florida, Idaho, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and Utah. This milestone positions the company to begin commercial air taxi services across key U.S. markets in 2026.

3. Manufacturing Scale-Up and Outlook

To meet anticipated demand, Joby acquired a 700,000-square-foot facility in Dayton, Ohio, complementing its Marina and San Carlos sites. The expanded footprint aims to ramp production to four aircraft per month by 2027, with long-term capacity to support up to 500 annual deliveries.
