KBR Wins $8 Billion, 20-Year Antarctic Science and Engineering Support Contract
KBR•KBR’s Mission Technology Solutions unit secured an $8 billion Antarctic Science and Engineering Support contract from the U.S. National Science Foundation, spanning a 20-year term from June 2026. Under this IDIQ contract, KBR will handle year-round operations, maintenance, logistics and IT support across three Antarctic stations and USAP field sites.

KBR’s Mission Technology Solutions business won an $8 billion ceiling Antarctic Science and Engineering Support contract structured as an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity award, with a 20-year performance term commencing June 2026.
2. Scope of Services
Under the contract, KBR will manage year-round operations, maintenance, logistics and cold-chain handling of scientific samples at McMurdo, Palmer and South Pole stations and across all U.S. Antarctic Program field sites, while also providing IT, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity support.
