Kroger, DoorDash Enable SNAP EBT Payments and Free Delivery at 2,700 Stores
DoorDash now accepts EBT and SNAP payments for online orders at 2,700 Kroger stores across brands such as Mariano’s, Fred Meyer and Ralphs. The rollout includes a $0 delivery fee on first EBT orders through June 15 and expands access for more than 42.1 million monthly SNAP recipients.
1. Partnership Rollout Details
DoorDash has integrated Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) support at nearly 2,700 Kroger stores, covering banners such as Mariano’s, Fred Meyer, Ralphs and Harris Teeter. This enables SNAP customers to purchase eligible grocery items—meats, produce, dairy and frozen foods—through the DoorDash marketplace.
2. First Order Delivery Promotion
To encourage trial, Kroger and DoorDash are offering a zero delivery fee on a customer’s first EBT order at participating stores through June 15. This incentive is designed to reduce barriers for SNAP recipients and drive repeat online grocery orders.
3. Broader SNAP User Base
USDA data shows an average of 42.1 million people use SNAP benefits monthly, and DoorDash reports over 4.5 million SNAP cards linked on its platform. The partnership taps into this large addressable market and could boost Kroger’s digital sales penetration.
