Lantronix teams with Swarmer to build custom compute module for small defense drones
LTRX•Designed for edge AI in contested environments
The companies said the design aims to run Swarmer’s autonomy software on small drones for defense missions, supporting edge AI in GNSS-denied, contested environments.
They expect the module to support software-defined upgrades, reducing hardware refresh needs across air, ground and maritime unmanned platforms.
Lantronix and Swarmer collaborate on custom drone compute module
Lantronix entered a collaboration with Swarmer to build a custom compute module for Group 1 unmanned aerial systems.
The platform is based on Lantronix’s Open-Q 6490CS system-on-module, targeting more than 400% higher onboard computing power versus current systems.
