Lockheed Martin develops NetSense 5G AI system to detect drones
LMT•NetSense 5G AI system aims to detect and track drones
Lockheed Martin unveiled NetSense, a 5G-based airspace awareness service that uses AI to detect, predict, track UAS movements.
- System uses RF measurements already collected on Verizon’s 5G spectrum, targeting deployment on 5G networks or future 6G ISAC networks.
- Miami-area demonstration in July validated the approach for commercial use cases, supporting scalable low-altitude monitoring without new 6G ISAC hardware.
- Development partnered with Verizon, NVIDIA, Keysight, ODC, Astris AI, integrating AI-RAN software, AI Aerial algorithms, and RF modeling.
