1. Horizon Worlds Discontinued on Quest Headsets

Meta will remove access to Horizon Worlds on Quest headsets starting June 15, eliminating the ability to build, publish or update virtual environments on those devices while retaining mobile access only.

2. Reality Labs Restructuring and AI Pivot

The company cut 1,000 Reality Labs positions and closed parts of its VR gaming and content operations, redirecting resources toward mobile-first experiences and wearable products tied to artificial intelligence, such as Ray-Ban Meta glasses.

3. AI Partnerships and Retail Expansion

Meta secured a $27 billion, 5-year AI infrastructure contract with Nebius and its mobile app will support future virtual environments. The firm also inked a 10-year lease on a Fifth Avenue flagship store to showcase its AI glasses and VR lineup.
