Meta Platforms has signed an agreement to secure up to 1 gigawatt of capacity from Overview Energy’s space-based solar infrastructure for its data centers, aiming for an initial orbital demonstration in 2028 and commercial power delivery by 2030 to ensure uninterrupted energy supply.

2. China Blocks $2 B Manus Acquisition

China’s National Development and Reform Commission has prohibited Meta’s planned $2 billion takeover of AI startup Manus, requiring all parties to withdraw from the transaction without providing specific reasons, representing a significant setback to Meta’s strategy to expand its AI capabilities.
