MIRA Secures Global IP for Ketamir-2 Across 10 Markets Ahead of Phase 2a CIPN
MIRA•MIRA Pharmaceuticals expanded exclusive Ketamir-2 license from North America to worldwide patent filings across 10 major markets, including Europe, China, Japan and South Korea, securing global intellectual property ahead of Phase 2a CIPN trials. The oral NMDA receptor modulator completed Phase 1 in 56 volunteers with favorable safety and pharmacokinetic findings and no serious adverse events.
1. Worldwide IP Expansion
MIRA executed Amendment No. 1 to its exclusive Ketamir-2 license, extending rights from the United States, Canada and Mexico to global patent filings in the US, Europe, China, Japan, Canada, Australia, India, Israel, Mexico and South Korea. The amendment maintains the original core economic terms while granting MIRA full strategic flexibility to pursue licensing or commercialization worldwide.
2. Phase 1 Safety and Pharmacokinetics
Ketamir-2 completed a Phase 1 trial in 56 healthy volunteers, demonstrating favorable safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetic profiles. No serious adverse events or study discontinuations were reported, supporting the molecule’s progression into patient-focused studies.
3. Strategic Outlook and Phase 2a Plans
With global IP secured and a robust Phase 1 data package, MIRA is finalizing protocol documentation for its planned Phase 2a chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy study. The company will submit this protocol to the FDA under its active IND and explore partnerships for co-development or commercialization.
