In 2025, Nicor Gas and its foundations donated more than $6 million to 336 nonprofits, aiding 381,000 families across Northern Illinois and surpassing the 250,000-family support goal. Volunteer efforts complemented financial contributions to expand basic needs assistance partnerships such as River Bend Food Bank and Hesed House.
2. Environmental Stewardship Achievements
The company supported protection of 11,100 acres of open space, exceeding its 10,000-acre conservation goal. Partners installed 16,500 pollinator plants and planted 12,000 trees through initiatives with local organizations to enhance biodiversity and preserve natural habitats.
3. Economic Opportunity Investments
Since 2021, Nicor Gas invested $7.76 million through partnerships with the Illinois Science and Technology Institute and Museum of Science and Industry. These funds aimed to foster entrepreneurship, equitable growth and long-term development in communities across Illinois.
