Nvidia Invests in $67M AI Metal Printer Startup, Secures Multi-Year Meta AI Pact

NVDANVDA

Nvidia’s NVentures co-led a $67M Series B for Freeform’s AI-native metal 3D printing platform, which leverages on-site H200 GPU clusters and plans to scale to hundreds of lasers. Separately, Nvidia sealed a multi-year AI infrastructure deal with Meta for CPUs, GPUs, Spectrum-X networking and confidential computing, boosting long-term hardware demand.

1. Freeform Secures $67M Series B

Freeform closed a $67 million Series B round that included Nvidia’s NVentures alongside Apandion, AE Ventures, Founders Fund, Linse Capital, Threshold Ventures and Two Sigma Ventures, raising its valuation to $179 million and funding upgrades to its GoldenEye laser system and development of the high-throughput Skyfall platform.

2. AI-Native Metal Printing Technology

The GoldenEye system uses 18 lasers to fuse metal powder into precision components, while the upcoming Skyfall iteration plans to employ hundreds of lasers to produce thousands of kilograms of parts daily. Both systems run real-time physics-based simulations on on-site H200 GPU clusters to optimize production quality and throughput.

3. Nvidia-Meta Multi-Year AI Infrastructure Pact

Nvidia and Meta Platforms agreed to a multi-year collaboration deploying Nvidia CPUs, GPUs, Spectrum-X Ethernet networking and rack-scale confidential computing for private WhatsApp processing. The deal marks one of the first large-scale deployments of Nvidia’s Grace CPU-only systems and deepens hardware and software integration between the two firms.
