PBK•PowerBank secured $841,555 in NYSERDA incentives for its 3.1 MW community solar project at Buffalo’s closed landfill, potentially boosting total funding to $1,571,789. The project is slated to generate enough clean energy for about 388 homes annually and strengthens PowerBank’s North American development pipeline.
PowerBank announced an $841,555 NYSERDA incentive award for its 3.1 MW NY-South Park community solar project on a closed landfill in Buffalo, with eligibility for up to an additional $730,234 under the Inclusive Community Solar Adder and Retail Energy Storage Incentive Program, totaling $1,571,789 in potential funding.
The NY-South Park facility is expected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 388 homes annually by feeding clean energy directly into the local grid, enabling subscribers to earn bill credits without installing panels, and supporting New York’s goal of 10 GW of solar by 2030.
This project underscores PowerBank’s institutional-grade development capabilities, adding to its pipeline of over 1 GW and complementing its strategic focus on AI compute and modular data center infrastructure, while leveraging state-level incentive programs to expand North American renewable energy assets.
The project remains subject to securing required permits, community solar contracts, third-party financing, and continued qualification under SSFA or ICSA, with incentive awards contingent on regulatory approvals and potential policy changes that could affect economic viability.
