Rambus Rolls Out DDR5 9600 RDIMM Chipset with 20% Speed Boost
RMBS•Rambus today unveiled its DDR5 9600 Server RDIMM chipset featuring the new 6th Generation Registering Clock Driver (RCD06) delivering 9600 MT/s, a 20% bandwidth boost over prior generation. The complete solution including PMIC5030 power IC, SPD hub and temperature sensors targets AI, HPC and data center servers.
1. New DDR5 9600 RDIMM Chipset Unveiled
Rambus introduced its latest DDR5 9600 Server RDIMM chipset built around the 6th Generation Registering Clock Driver (RCD06), enabling RDIMMs to operate at up to 9600 MT/s. The chipset integrates the RCD06, PMIC5030 power management IC, SPD Hub and dedicated temperature sensors to simplify module development and ensure signal integrity at high data rates.
2. Designed for AI and Data Center Workloads
The chipset addresses rising memory bandwidth and capacity demands driven by agentic AI, high-performance computing and data-intensive server applications. By boosting data rates 20% over the prior generation and offering a complete module solution, Rambus aims to support next-generation CPU-based server platforms handling large-scale inference, KV caching and complex multi-core workloads.
