ResMed Completes $340M Noctrix Health Deal, Adds FDA-Cleared TOMAC Device
RMD•ResMed has completed its $340 million acquisition of Noctrix Health, integrating the FDA-cleared Nidra device into its sleep medicine portfolio. Noctrix, backed by a $40 million Series C round in 2022, addresses restless leg syndrome in 13% of diagnosed US patients with its non-invasive TOMAC therapy.
1. Acquisition Completion
On June 3, ResMed finalized its $340 million acquisition of Noctrix Health, representing the first portfolio exit for Angelini Ventures and expanding ResMed's presence in sleep medicine.
2. Innovative TOMAC Therapy
Noctrix’s flagship product, Nidra, delivers mild electrical pulses via wearable cuffs to the peroneal nerves, providing non-pharmacologic relief for restless leg syndrome with de novo FDA classification secured in 2023.
3. Market Opportunity for RLS Device
Restless leg syndrome affects approximately 13% of diagnosed Americans, creating a substantial addressable market for Nidra’s tonic motor activation therapy among patients unresponsive to drug treatments.
4. Strategic Integration into ResMed Ecosystem
ResMed plans to integrate Nidra into its AirSense CPAP and ventilator product lines, leveraging its global distribution network to accelerate patient access and drive portfolio growth.
