Resolution Minerals Unveils 13,700m Drill Plan, Reports Up to 95.5% Gold Recovery
Resolution Minerals has launched a 13,700-metre, 45-hole drill campaign at its Horse Heaven project targeting tungsten and gold after prior intercepts of 189.2m at 1.30g/t and 253m at 1.50g/t. Metallurgical tests show oxide gold recoveries of 94-95.5% and sulphide yields up to 88.7%, while historical stockpile sampling returned 1.85% WO3.
1. Drill Campaign Launch
Resolution Minerals has mobilised an MP1500 diamond core rig to commence a 13,700m drill program comprising up to 45 holes at the Golden Gate prospect within the Horse Heaven project. The campaign aims to expand known gold zones and evaluate a broad tungsten system across historical workings and soil anomalies.
2. Gold and Tungsten Targets
Previous drilling at Golden Gate delivered significant gold intercepts including 189.2m at 1.30g/t from 34.1m, 265.2m at 0.60g/t from surface and 253m at 1.50g/t from surface. Current targets focus on extensions of Golden Gate North and South and the coincident gold-tungsten soil anomaly spanning 500 by 600 metres.
3. Historical Tungsten Data
Tungsten was mined at Golden Gate until 1980, and historical stockpile sampling at the adjacent Johnson Creek mill site returned grades of 1.85% WO3. The new campaign will drill around these historical workings to assess the thickness, continuity and grade of the tungsten mineralisation.
4. Metallurgical Test Results
Initial metallurgical testing on oxide core samples achieved gold recoveries between 94.2% and 95.5% via cyanide leaching, while sulphide flotation work reported up to 88.7% recovery. These results support the potential for cost-effective gold extraction and strengthen the project’s development case.
