Rigetti Launches 108-Qubit Modular System with 99.1% Fidelity

RGTIRGTI

Rigetti’s Cepheus-1-108Q system provides 108 qubits via a 12×9-chiplet architecture, delivering 99.1% median two-qubit fidelity and 60 ns gate speed on Rigetti Quantum Cloud Services and Amazon Braket. The company plans to raise two-qubit fidelity to 99.5% in 2026 and targets quantum advantage within three years.

1. General Availability of Cepheus-1-108Q

Rigetti has launched Cepheus-1-108Q, its highest qubit-count modular system, offering customers access through Rigetti Quantum Cloud Services and Amazon Braket. The system marks the first gate-based device on Braket exceeding 100 qubits and responds to growing enterprise and research demand.

2. Performance and Architecture

Cepheus-1-108Q integrates twelve 9-qubit chiplets built on Rigetti’s proprietary architecture, tripling qubit capacity from its previous 36-qubit system. It delivers a 99.1% median two-qubit gate fidelity, 99.9% median single-qubit fidelity and gate speeds near 60 nanoseconds.

3. Roadmap and Commercial Outlook

Rigetti aims to boost two-qubit gate fidelity to 99.5% later this year as part of its scaling strategy and targets achieving quantum advantage within three years. The system’s integration with cloud platforms is expected to broaden commercial adoption and accelerate quantum research applications.
