Roche and Genentech to build North Carolina manufacturing site
Roche will invest about USD 2 billion to build Genentech’s first East Coast manufacturing site in Holly Springs, North Carolina.
- The project reached a topping-out milestone with the final structural beam placed, keeping construction on schedule.
- The site will manufacture next-generation metabolic medicines, including obesity treatments, using automation, robotics, digital manufacturing, and an AI-powered digital twin.
- The facility is expected to support over 2,000 jobs, including more than 500 manufacturing roles.
- The investment forms part of Roche and Genentech’s USD 50 billion U.S. R&D and manufacturing infrastructure commitment.
