Rockwell Automation Debuts FactoryTalk Orchestration with 70% Throughput Gain and 50% Space Cut
ROK•Rockwell Automation launched FactoryTalk Orchestration software at Automate in Chicago to coordinate end-to-end material flow and production processes using real-time signals. At its Twinsburg facility, the software improved drop-off zone space utilization by 70% and cut material handling space requirements by 50%, with global expansion planned.
1. Product Launch Overview
Rockwell Automation unveiled FactoryTalk Orchestration software at the Automate trade show in Chicago on June 22, 2026. The solution is designed to standardize connectivity across automated equipment, plant and enterprise systems, and to coordinate material flow and production processes in real time.
2. Key Features and Strategy
Built on the FactoryTalk Optix platform, Orchestration integrates OTTO autonomous mobile robots and other ecosystem devices to streamline production logistics. The software connects real-time production signals to automate operations, reduce bottlenecks and enhance responsiveness to disruptions.
3. Pilot Results at Twinsburg Facility
At Rockwell’s Twinsburg, Ohio facility, FactoryTalk Orchestration enabled autonomous operations across key processes, boosting drop-off zone space utilization by 70% and cutting overall material handling space requirements by 50%. These gains demonstrated the potential for throughput improvements and operational simplification.
4. Future Integration and Rollout
Rockwell plans to expand Orchestration to additional manufacturing facilities worldwide and integrate more ecosystem partners. The company will showcase live demonstrations through June 25 in booth S2267, highlighting collaboration with Emulate3D digital twin software and OTTO AMRs for end-to-end coordination.
