The U.S. Army awarded the Javelin Joint Venture a $215 million contract to produce launchers on Oct. 19, 2026. The venture pairs RTX’s Raytheon business with Lockheed Martin. Its Lightweight Command Launch Unit replaces Javelin’s legacy launcher; the first units were delivered to the Army five months earlier. The new launcher is 30% smaller and 25% lighter than the Block I model, with double the target detection and recognition capability.
