SAP has struck an agreement to acquire Dremio, a leading open data lakehouse platform built on Apache Iceberg, to eliminate data fragmentation and enable real-time analytical and agentic AI workloads across SAP and non-SAP sources. The transaction, with undisclosed terms, is expected to finalize in Q3 2026 subject to regulatory approval.

2. US-Germany Tensions Could Impact SAP

Meanwhile, the US will withdraw more than 5,000 troops from Germany and impose 25% tariffs on EU vehicle imports, measures that could pressure Germany-based technology firms. Potential headwinds include reduced enterprise IT spending and supply chain disruptions affecting SAP’s global operations.
