SiriusPoint Names Mark Aspinall Head of Fine Art & Specie Unit Starting January 2027
SPNT•SiriusPoint will appoint Mark Aspinall as Head of Fine Art & Specie in January 2027, based in London, reporting to Global Head of Marine Chris Fenn. He brings over 35 years of London insurance experience to build a specialty line covering art institutions, galleries, auction houses and secure transport providers.
1. Appointment Details
SiriusPoint will appoint Mark Aspinall as Head of its new Fine Art & Specie team effective January 2027. He will be based in London and report to Global Head of Marine Chris Fenn, bringing over 35 years of underwriting experience in complex fine art and specie risks.
2. Scope of the Offering
Aspinall will be responsible for establishing and growing a disciplined portfolio of high-value asset risks, including fine art institutions, galleries, private collections, luxury retailers, auction houses and secure transportation providers. The unit will leverage technical expertise to underwrite bespoke risks in the art and specie sector.
3. Strategic Specialty Expansion
The new Fine Art & Specie line complements SiriusPoint’s adjacent Marine classes such as cargo, war, political violence and terrorism. This appointment follows recent senior hires in the Crisis Solutions team and aligns with the company’s strategy to build targeted specialty capabilities for profitable growth.
