SLF•Sun Life’s Asia legacy-planning study found 52% of respondents cited beneficiaries’ readiness as the top threat to preserving family wealth. Seventy percent worried wealth would not survive the next generation, while 20% felt fully prepared to pass on a legacy.
1. Legacy planning concerns
The study found beneficiary readiness led concerns about preserving family wealth at 52%, ahead of market volatility at 49% and family conflict at 44%. Families with fully documented and communicated plans rose to 22% in 2026 from 10% in 2025, while the share with no plan fell to 15%. High-net-worth respondents focused on investment decisions, tax or legal complexity and adviser trust; 20% flagged disputes as a major risk.
