Super Micro contractor pleads guilty in scheme to divert AI servers with Nvidia chips to China
SMCI•A contractor linked to Super Micro Computer pleaded guilty to a scheme to illegally export servers containing advanced Nvidia AI chips to China. Prosecutors charged him and two others in March with conspiring to divert about $2.5 billion worth of U.S. AI technology to China.

Ting-Wei “Willy” Sun entered his guilty plea on Thursday in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, a court docket showed.
2. Earlier charges
U.S. prosecutors charged Sun and two others associated with Super Micro, including a co-founder, in March with conspiring to divert about $2.5 billion worth of U.S. AI technology to China in violation of export laws.
