1. Infobahn Named Lead Partner for METI’s Global Fashion IP Initiative
TNL Mediagene’s subsidiary Infobahn Inc. has been appointed Lead Partner for Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) “Program for Creating Global Fashion IP.” The program, which kicks off with the “UNFOLDING” results presentation in January 2026 across Tokyo and Kyoto, aims to nurture the next generation of fashion creators by converting traditional crafts and cultural assets into high-value intellectual property. Infobahn will design and manage a support framework that includes mentoring from over 20 industry experts, fieldwork visits to five key production regions, and partnership matchmaking with global fashion brands. The selection reflects Infobahn’s track record executing over 150 public-private projects since its founding in 1998 and its roster of clients that includes five of Japan’s top ten multinational corporations and three government agencies.
2. NLWeb Integration Positions TNL Mediagene for AI-Driven Monetization
On January 6, 2026, TNL Mediagene announced full integration of Microsoft’s Natural Language Web (NLWeb) framework across its digital media portfolio, encompassing eight media brands in Japanese, Chinese and English. NLWeb enables structured, conversational queries by AI agents and large language models, replacing traditional link-based navigation. This initiative follows the company’s rollout of AI content licensing in Q4 2025, which delivered its first licensing deal with a major enterprise AI firm. With approximately 500 employees across offices in Tokyo, Taipei and Hong Kong, TNL Mediagene now offers on-demand access to its 12,000-piece article archive via the Model Context Protocol, setting the stage for usage-based and deep enterprise integration revenue streams projected to account for 15% of total digital media revenue by 2027.
