Truist Financial named Fiserv’s Mike Lyons as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Lyons brings over 20 years of payments, financial technology, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity experience and will join the bank’s Board of Directors to spearhead its digital growth strategy.
Truist Financial’s Board has appointed Michael Lyons as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Lyons will also assume a seat on Truist’s Board of Directors, succeeding the previous CEO to lead the bank’s overall strategy and operations.
Lyons joins Truist from Fiserv, where he served as CEO and oversaw key initiatives in merchant solutions, payments modernization and AI integration. He has more than 20 years of experience, including roles as Co-President and COO at Fiserv and Global Head of Payments at J.P. Morgan.
With Lyons’ background in technology and cybersecurity, Truist aims to accelerate its digital transformation and expand its payments platform offerings. His appointment signals a focus on leveraging fintech partnerships and AI capabilities to drive revenue growth and enhance customer experience.
