UK names bookrunners for digital gilt launch in early 2027
TLT•Britain’s finance ministry named six banks as joint lead managers for an early 2027 pilot issuance of a government bond using distributed ledger technology.
1. Banks named
Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, Morgan Stanley, NatWest and RBC Capital Markets will act as joint lead managers for the Digital Gilt Instrument, known as DIGIT.
2. Technology pilot
The bond will explore whether distributed ledger technology can simplify the administration of traditional financial products.
