United Airlines joined a more than $20 billion, decade-long overhaul of Washington Dulles with the Airports Authority, targeting a larger hub footprint.
The plan calls for 5 million square feet of new or renovated space, including replacement of the C/D Concourse with larger-aircraft capability.
A new Concourse E opens later this year with 14 new United gates, supporting international expansion, AeroTrain access, and upgraded lounges.
The project also includes an expanded AeroTrain to replace mobile lounges, a new large U.S. Customs facility, and upgraded baggage systems.
