US energy stocks rise on little sign of progress in US-Iran talks
XLE•US-listed energy shares rose premarket as Brent crude futures gained 1.8% to $104.80 a barrel and US West Texas Intermediate rose 1.6% to $93.60. ExxonMobil and Chevron each gained about 1%.
1. Energy shares gain
Oil prices rose as US-Iran diplomatic talks showed little sign of progress, while investors focused on uncertainty about a potential US ban on diesel exports. APA Corp added 1.4%; Occidental Petroleum and Diamondback Energy each rose 1.3%, while Halliburton, SLB, Marathon Petroleum and Phillips 66 also gained.
