Varun Beverages secured a 10-year exclusive bottling licence extension with PepsiCo and will produce Asahi’s fermented milk Calpis drinks at its 53 Indian facilities in original and mango flavours, selling 180ml bottles at Rs20 each. PepsiCo also recorded its 50th consecutive annual dividend increase, reinforcing its yield credentials.
Varun Beverages gained a 10-year extension to its exclusive bottling and trademark licence with PepsiCo in India, removing previous restrictions on non-PepsiCo products and reinforcing its role as the second-largest franchisee with 53 production sites.
Under the new franchise deal, Asahi will oversee development and technical guidance while Varun will handle manufacturing, distribution and sales of Calpis fermented milk drinks in original and mango flavours, sold in 180ml bottles priced at Rs20 each starting in the second half of the year.
PepsiCo achieved its 50th straight annual dividend increase, highlighting its long-term commitment to shareholder returns and reinforcing its profile among dividend-focused investors.
