Venture Global and Aktor LNG USA signed a $6 billion, 20-year liquefied natural gas export agreement to supply LNG to Albania. The deal complements a €1.5 billion AAFS-led pipeline project carrying U.S. gas from Croatia’s Krk terminal to Bosnia to diversify regional energy sources.

1. Venture Global's Albanian LNG Export Deal

Venture Global and Aktor LNG USA formalized a $6 billion, 20-year contract to export liquefied natural gas to Albania, marking the company’s first long-term supply deal in the Balkans. The agreement secures a steady off-take for Venture Global’s production and opens a strategic southern Europe market for U.S. LNG.

2. €1.5 Billion Krk-Bosnia Pipeline Project

AAFS Infrastructure and Energy LLC will lead a €1.5 billion investment to construct a gas pipeline from the Krk LNG terminal in Croatia to Bosnia. The project is designed to integrate U.S. LNG into Bosnia’s network, reduce dependence on Russian gas, and strengthen regional energy connectivity.

3. Energy Security and Regional Diversification Impact

These U.S.-backed initiatives aim to bolster Balkan energy security by introducing long-term LNG supply and new pipeline infrastructure. Venture Global stands to gain stable revenues from the Albanian deal, while the regional projects support broader efforts to shift away from traditional Russian gas imports.
