Viking Therapeutics appointed Dorothy Gemmell to its board, effective immediately.

Gemmell brings over 25 years in healthcare, digital health and commercialization experience, and has held president or chief commercial officer roles at GoodRx, Capsule and Havas Life.

The appointment comes as Viking advances next-generation metabolic programs, including preparations for a potential launch of obesity drug candidate VK2735.
