Wall St futures rise as oil slips; telecoms pressured by SpaceX spectrum deal
SPY•U.S. stock futures rose, with the Dow up 0.07%, the S&P 500 up 0.35% and the Nasdaq 100 up 0.72%, as oil prices fell more than 1%. Telecom shares dropped after SpaceX agreed to acquire a nationwide low-band spectrum portfolio.
1. Futures and oil
U.S. stock index futures rose Friday as oil prices retreated on easing concerns about Middle East supply disruptions. Brent crude fell more than 1% but remained above $100 a barrel. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq were headed for weekly gains, while the Dow was on track for a slim gain.
2. Company movers
SpaceX gained 3.9% after striking a deal to acquire a nationwide low-band spectrum portfolio. T-Mobile US fell 7.3%, AT&T dropped 5.8% and Verizon eased 5.4%. Delta Air Lines slid 4.5% after cutting its annual profit forecast by nearly a quarter at the midpoint, while Humana rose 14.2% after government data showed 95% of its Medicare Advantage members were in plans rated four stars or higher for 2027.
