Chipotle’s same-store sales fell 1.7% in 2025 and its “Recipe for Growth” plan targets flat sales next year. Yum Brands reported Taco Bell same-store sales growth of 7%, KFC up 1%, and plans to close 250 Pizza Hut outlets in H1 2026.

1. Chipotle’s Sales Decline and Growth Plan

Chipotle posted a 1.7% drop in same-store sales for 2025 and rolled out a five-step “Recipe for Growth” initiative aimed at flat sales in 2026. The plan emphasizes increased limited-time offers and reinforcing the brand’s value proposition to reverse its sales downturn.

2. Taco Bell and KFC Performance

Taco Bell delivered a 7% increase in same-store sales in the latest quarter, extending its lead in the quick-service segment and capturing market share from competitors. KFC recorded a 1% comp sales rise, reflecting early success in its turnaround efforts.

3. Pizza Hut Rationalization

Pizza Hut saw sales decline in 2025 and has scheduled the closure of about 250 underperforming locations during the first half of 2026. The closures aim to streamline operations and bolster franchisee returns through a more optimized footprint.
