The company also plans to invest $1.5 billion to expand its Alabama data center through 2027, adding 1,000 contract jobs and committing $2.55 million to local community programs.

Google’s Fitbit Air, priced at $100, is now approved for purchase with U.S. HSA and FSA accounts, enabling consumers to use pre-tax health savings for the screen-free wearable. The certification underscores Google’s push to position the device as a daily wellness tool rather than a simple step counter.
2. $1.5B Alabama Data Center Expansion
Alphabet will invest $1.5 billion in its Jackson County, Alabama data center campus through 2027, adding more than 1,000 contract workers for the construction phase. The plan covers 100% of power and infrastructure costs at the site, brings over 300 MW of new generation capacity, and includes $2.55 million in local community commitments for weatherization, energy efficiency upgrades and STEM kits.
