Carbonium Core CEO Targets 50,000-Ton Graphite Output, $1.5B Annual Revenue
TOMZ•TOMI Environmental Solutions’s merger partner Carbonium Core has outlined a commercialization roadmap to build America’s first domestic nuclear-grade graphite supply chain targeting 50,000 metric tons capacity and $1.5bn revenue. CEO Suren Ajjarapu says proprietary Oak Ridge National Laboratory-licensed technology positions the company as critical supplier for AI-driven nuclear reactors.
1. Merger Agreement and Succession Plan
TOMI Environmental Solutions entered into a definitive merger agreement with Carbonium Core, under which Carbonium Core will become the successor operating company upon closing. This transaction aligns TOMI’s environmental expertise with Carbonium Core’s strategic focus on nuclear-grade graphite supply.
2. Commercialization Roadmap and Capacity
Management outlined a phased commercialization strategy beginning with a pilot facility to qualify materials with advanced reactor developers, followed by a planned commercial-scale plant. The target is to produce approximately 50,000 metric tons of nuclear-grade graphite annually, representing a potential $1.5 billion revenue opportunity based on current market pricing assumptions.
3. AI-Driven Nuclear Energy Demand
Explosive growth in AI, hyperscale data centers and next-generation computing is driving demand for reliable baseload power, prompting major technology companies to invest in advanced nuclear projects. Carbonium Core aims to supply critical reactor-grade graphite required by Generation IV and SMR designs to support this AI-driven nuclear renaissance.
4. Key Commercial Milestones
Key milestones include qualification of graphite with leading reactor developers, securing letters of intent and long-term supply agreements, advancement of the pilot facility, deployment of ORNL-licensed purification technology and progress on government financing and strategic partnerships to support domestic critical-mineral production.
