Ford is recalling about 1.74 million U.S. vehicles including Bronco, Edge, Escape and Lincoln Corsair models over rearview camera overheating or software bugs.

1. Significant Layoffs at Georgia Battery Plant

SK Battery laid off 958 workers at its $2.6 billion Commerce, Georgia facility, which started supplying cells for Ford’s F-150 Lightning in early 2022. The plant will continue limited operations while impacted employees receive pay through May 6 under WARN notice provisions.

2. Major Rearview Camera Recall

Ford’s recall affects about 1.74 million U.S. vehicles, spanning Bronco, Edge, Escape and Lincoln Corsair models. The defect stems from overheating in the Accessory Protocol Interface Module or software glitches, potentially disabling the rearview camera and triggering compliance and safety risks.
