Google targets Brazil rice farms in 2 million-metric-ton CO2e removal, methane-cut deal with Terradot

Google announced its largest carbon-removal purchase, partnering with Terradot to deploy climate solutions at rice farms in Brazil.

• The deal targets 1,000,000 metric tons CO2e (GWP 20) of methane elimination by 2030.
• The agreement also covers 1,000,000 metric tons of permanent carbon removal by 2040.

The project plans Alternate Wetting and Drying across more than 200,000 hectares to cut methane emissions.
