HIVE’s BUZZ HPC Secures $220M Three-Year GPU Contract with Bell and Cohere
HIVE•HIVE Digital Technologies’ BUZZ HPC has signed a three-year GPU cloud contract worth USD $220 million with Bell AI Fabric and Cohere to deploy 2,304 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GPUs in Merritt, BC. The renewable-powered installation uses advanced liquid cooling and is financed by proceeds from HIVE’s recent USD $115 million convertible note.
1. Landmark GPU Cloud Contract
HIVE Digital Technologies’ wholly owned subsidiary BUZZ HPC has executed a three-year GPU cloud contract with Bell AI Fabric and Cohere valued at approximately USD $220 million. Under this agreement, BUZZ HPC will supply a sovereign AI stack featuring 2,304 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GPUs to serve Canadian enterprise and government customers.
2. Deployment Infrastructure and Technology
The infrastructure comprises NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 rack-scale systems interconnected via NVIDIA Quantum InfiniBand networking and outfitted with advanced liquid cooling. Hosted at Bell’s purpose-built Merritt, British Columbia facility, the deployment is powered by renewable energy and engineered for ultra-low power usage effectiveness.
3. Financing and Partnerships
HIVE is funding the GPU procurement using proceeds from its USD $115 million convertible note financing completed in April 2026. Canadian OEM veteran Hypertec will deliver bespoke GPU servers, handling hardware procurement, system integration, installation, commissioning and ongoing support.
4. Strategic Impact on Canadian AI
This partnership aligns with Canada’s federal AI strategy to ensure technology sovereignty and data security under Canadian control. By integrating connectivity, data centres, compute and AI models into a unified national platform, the deal strengthens BUZZ HPC’s position as a leading sovereign AI cloud provider.
