Kratos reported a successful first ignition test of the GEK800 turbofan cruise missile propulsion system at its X-58 test facility.
The engine, now designated F143, is intended for long-range stand-off strike requirements, supporting affordable cruise missile propulsion development.
Program remains on schedule as testing expands
Management cited a 100% success rate for this ignition phase, triggering a new test campaign while keeping the program on schedule.
Kratos said it is preparing for large-volume GEK800 production to support advanced cruise missile systems.
