1. Strike vote
The union representing workers at Micron's Taoyuan operations said 1,994 members, or 99% of those casting ballots, voted to authorize a strike over the bonus scheme. Details, including timing, are still under discussion.
2. Bonus dispute
Mediation between Micron and the Taoyuan union ended without agreement in September. The union said the company's fiscal 2026 rewards, including a T$1 million cash bonus for employees in Taiwan, did not address its demand for a permanent profit-sharing mechanism.
3. Taiwan operations
Micron employs about 15,000 people in Taiwan, where two unions represent more than 80% of its workforce. The Taichung union remains in negotiations. Taiwan is a production centre for Micron's DRAM and high-bandwidth memory chips.
