Novartis to Acquire Myricx Bio in $1.5B Deal for NMTi ADC Platform
NVS•Novartis has agreed to acquire UK-based Myricx Bio in a deal valued at up to $1.5 billion, comprising a $1.1 billion upfront payment and up to $400 million in milestones. The acquisition grants Novartis rights to Myricx’s NMTi-based ADC payload platform, with lead candidates targeting B7-H3 and HER2 in solid tumors.
1. Deal Structure
Novartis will pay $1.1 billion upfront and may pay up to $400 million in regulatory and clinical milestones to acquire Myricx Bio. The transaction, valued at up to $1.5 billion, is expected to close in the second half of 2026 pending customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
2. NMTi ADC Platform
Myricx Bio has developed an antibody-drug conjugate payload platform based on N-myristoyltransferase inhibitors (NMTi), which aim to overcome limitations of existing payloads like topoisomerase 1 inhibitors. Its pipeline includes two lead candidates directed at tumour-associated antigens B7-H3 and HER2 for solid tumor applications.
3. Strategic Impact
The acquisition strengthens Novartis’s oncology portfolio by adding a differentiated ADC payload mechanism designed to address resistance and widen therapeutic scope. Integrating the NMTi platform supports Novartis’s goal to expand next-generation ADC offerings across multiple tumour settings.
