PG&E to Grant $46.26 Residential Gas and $36.18 Small Business Electric Credits

Pacific Gas and Electric will apply a $46.26 natural gas credit to residential April bills and a $36.18 electric credit to eligible small business accounts. The California Public Utilities Commission has paused the residential electric credit roll-out until August and September, and plans to shift a gas credit to February.

1. Credit Distribution

In April, PG&E will automatically apply a $46.26 natural gas credit to residential accounts and a $36.18 electric credit to eligible small business customers with no action required.

2. CPUC Timing Adjustments

The California Public Utilities Commission has paused the residential electric credit until August and September and plans to move the natural gas credit to February following legislative direction to align with high-usage months.

3. Historical Credit Impact

Since 2014, households have received nearly $1,200 in credits on average, contributing to roughly $15.2 billion in cumulative Cap-and-Invest benefits statewide.

4. Energy Efficiency Programs

PG&E continues to promote energy-saving initiatives, including induction cooktop loans, LED lighting savings of about $225 per year, smart thermostat rebates, and incentives for heat pumps and EV chargers.
