T-Mobile rolls out AI AutoPilot to speed 5G network adjustments during disruptions
TMUS•T-Mobile rolled out AI AutoPilot, which cut real-time network adjustment times by about half in recent testing. During Winter Storm Fern, its self-organizing network kept sites online for more than 250,000 additional minutes across more than 30 states.
1. Network automation rollout
T-Mobile said its AI-driven AutoPilot, embedded in its self-organizing network, is designed to limit service disruptions during outages, extreme weather and high-demand events. The company also expanded Dynamic CX nationwide to forecast demand ahead of major events and automatically optimize capacity as conditions shift; hybrid generators can extend cell-site runtime by up to 50% during prolonged commercial power outages.
