Telesat reached an agreement in principle with Canada’s Defence Investment Agency to provide Mil-Ka-band connectivity under the ESCP-P Arctic military communications program, spanning 65°–90° North. The definitive contract is expected in the coming weeks and will not delay Telesat Lightspeed’s global service launch scheduled for Q1 2028.
Telesat LEO ULC reached an agreement in principle with Canada’s Defence Investment Agency to deliver secure Military Ka-band services for the Enhanced Satellite Communications Project – Polar (ESCP-P) program, building on the 2025 Strategic Partnership Agreement with MDA Space.
Telesat Lightspeed will provide Mil-Ka-band connectivity across Canada’s Arctic region (65°–90° North latitude) and deliver end-to-end integration, including user terminals, ground and control infrastructure, training, and support services.
The agreement is subject to a definitive contract expected in the coming weeks; Telesat intends to share financial details post-signing and does not anticipate any impact on its Q1 2028 global Lightspeed service launch.
