Telesat LEO ULC reached an agreement in principle with Canada’s Defence Investment Agency to deliver secure Military Ka-band services for the Enhanced Satellite Communications Project – Polar (ESCP-P) program, building on the 2025 Strategic Partnership Agreement with MDA Space.
Telesat Lightspeed will provide Mil-Ka-band connectivity across Canada’s Arctic region (65°–90° North latitude) and deliver end-to-end integration, including user terminals, ground and control infrastructure, training, and support services.
The agreement is subject to a definitive contract expected in the coming weeks; Telesat intends to share financial details post-signing and does not anticipate any impact on its Q1 2028 global Lightspeed service launch.
